Andrea Perron: A Story of Courage, Pain and Truth. Meet My Hero Series with April Roane

Andrea Perron. Her heart will enter a room before her body does. She’s been to hell and back, but you wouldn’t know it by the way she smiles at you. And the animal kingdom? They seek her out for protection because energy does not lie.  

Most would know her as the Author of the trilogy, “House of Darkness House of Light" which is a collective memoir that chronicles the events that took place between 1970-1980 in her family’s farmhouse in Harrisville, R.I. She is the eldest daughter of the Perron family, whose true-life story of this farmhouse inspired the movie, The Conjuring.   

Where she comes from is not why she is one of my heroes. Being a #hero means that we continue to show up in life despite being afraid. Whether #fear comes in the form of a person, a presence, or a loss, it feels real and can change us. Andrea does not run from fear. She faces it and she allows love to take over.   

#Courage. Courage in her ability to choose different. Courage in her ability to be different. Courage in her ability to love differently even when society tells her not to. Courage in her ability to speak up and inspire us to think differently. Feathers were meant to be ruffled. Courage and her determination to be love in action… that is why she is one of my heroes.   

Annie’s heart will enter a room before she does. She might have tears in her eyes, but she will have a warm hug waiting for you. Somehow you will forget that she has been to hell and even lived it- even in the recent loss of her sister, April, Andrea will make you feel seen. She will make you feel heard. And she will make you feel alive even if for a short while. You will feel the authenticity of her courage and gentleness of her truth.  

 A light. A leader. An old soul.
